I mainly use this for element so I can chat with my friends without using evil software. Although, I did have to make a discord bridge (⌣_⌣”).

If you are looking to get element you can get it here. There are also many other clients, for example if you like WeeChat you can use that.

Also ... Can I read your private messages? - no! Thats why you have to save that encryption key! It's all end to end encrypted, thus the beauty of matrix. Although public/un-encrypted chats are infact un-encrypted and I can read them on the server end.
